DO NOT DRINK THE WATER

The North Slope Borough, in coordination with ICAS Emergency Management and the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation, continues to urge Kaktovik residents not to drink the community water while testing and investigation continue.

Safe Drinking Water

Available for pickup at the Kaktovik Water Treatment Plant.

Health Concerns

Borough health staff are available at the Kaktovik Medical Clinic for residents who have health concerns or would like to be evaluated.

Do not use for: 

Drinking, cooking, food preparation, beverages, ice, or brushing teeth. 

Do not boil

Boiling the water will NOT make it safe to drink or use for food prep.

Safe drinking water

Safe drinking water is available for pickup at the Kaktovik Water Treatment Plant.

Water may be used for

Water may still be used for showering, washing dishes, and washing clothes.
